The delivery flight coincides with the opening of Changi airport s Terminal 3, which has been specially built to handle the huge double-decker aircraft. Once the terminal is fully operational, it will have 19 gates capable of disembarking passengers from two levels. The Singapore A380 has been configured to carry 471 passengers in three classes, with 12 new luxury suites, the first on any commercial airline. The upper deck will also cater for 60 business class passengers. The suites are designed by French luxury yacht designer Jean-Jacques Coste. The cabins have sliding doors, full sized beds, leather arm chairs and a chaise lounge.Passengers in classes will have more seating room, greater entertainment options and, for those doing business, office software on the in-flight system. The A380 is much quieter and more fuel efficient of any aircraft.
